About Us
The Crayford Community & Business Forum consists of 30 representatives of the community made up of the following groups: non-retail, faith groups, community groups, police, residents association and, last but not least, local residents.
From these 30 people are elected a management committee, consisting of Chair Person(s), Treasurer and Secretary. In addition to the management sub-committee, the Forum have set up four sub-groups, which consist of traffic, urban design, young people, and ecology and environment. These groups are set up to examine in detail and make recommendations on proposals to the main Forum.
The Forum has now been officially up and running since 2004. The main aim of the Forum is to enable the local community and businesses to become better involved in decision-making on local issues, which includes the regeneration of the Town.
The Forum’s Overall Objectives
- To insure the highest standards of design for any renewal or improvement and development proposals for the town and surrounding area, in accordance with the Crayford Town Centre Strategy and Action Plan.
- To express the views of all sections of the local community on matters relating to any government funding of local regeneration initiatives that may arise in the future.
- To liaise with the Council on other issues affecting the local community and businesses.
- To work with the Town Centre Manager on the promotion of Crayford Town Centre.
- To encourage investment in projects and participation in community activities that enhance the quality of life of people living and working in Crayford.
